Today, March 1st is the first day of National Professional Social Work Month! Social Work Month has been recognized in March annually by the White House since 1984, almost a century after our profession was formally founded. Each year, a particular initiative or call to action is highlighted as the focus of the annual Social Work Month. This year, 2021, the theme is “Social Workers are Essential.”
