1st ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE
Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Center (SWEEAC)
ATLANTA, GEORGIA - The Aiken Foundation, an IRS tax-exempt 501(c)(3) Public Charity Nonprofit Organization, is pleased to announce the success of our 1st Annual Food Drive, which from December 12 - 31, 2020, at Subway located at 3730 CarMia Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30331, collected over 100 pieces of non-perishable food items. On January 14, 2021, these collected items where then donated to the Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Center (SWEEAC) located at 1040 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30310.
SWEEAC, organized in 1988, by a group of churches in Southwest Atlanta, is missioned “to provide food, clothing, household items and resources to individuals and families.” According to SWEEAC data, they have served more than 50,000 families and distributed over 1,000,000 pounds of food to families in metro-Atlanta.
The current Executive Director is Ernesta Ingram, whom both Co-Founders, Antwan and Jeremy, had an opportunity to meet and interview.
